
Calling all manga artists, comic creators, and illustrators! Organized by Tottori Prefecture in Japan, the 15th Manga Kingdom Tottori International Comic Art Contest is currently accepting free submissions from artists worldwide.
Whether you are a seasoned professional, an independent creator, or a young artist under 15, this international open call is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your visual storytelling skills on a global stage.
Theme & Categories
This year’s official theme is “Clothes.” Participants are invited to interpret this theme creatively and submit their original manga artwork into any of the following three categories:
- 1-Frame Manga: (1 page)
- 4-Frame Manga: (1 to 8 pages)
- Manga Story: (4 to 24 pages)
Submission Guidelines
- Originality: All submitted works must be entirely original and previously unpublished in commercial magazines. (Note: Works published independently as self-published zines or “doujinshi” are accepted!)
- Multiple Entries: Participants are welcome to submit multiple entries and can enter more than one category.
Prizes and Awards
With absolutely no entry fee required, this contest offers excellent financial support and recognition for talented comic artists. The prizes are structured as follows:
- Grand Prize (1 Winner): 500,000 JPY
- Merit Award (2 Winners): 100,000 JPY
- Selection Committee Award (3 Winners): 50,000 JPY
- U-15 Youth Manga Artist Prize (3 Winners): Art supplies and prize items valued at 30,000 JPY (Specifically for talented artists under 15 years old)
