
Are you an animator who pushes boundaries and views your work as cultural art rather than just a commercial product? The 16th International Animation Festival of Pernambuco (Animage 2026) is now accepting free submissions from visionary filmmakers around the world.
Taking place in the vibrant city of Recife, Brazil, Animage privileges risk, boldness, reinvention, and the exercise of creative freedom. The festival features competitive and non-competitive screenings, alongside masterclasses, exhibitions, and workshops for both professionals and beginners.
Screening Categories
The Animage 2026 competitive program is open to various formats and audiences. Participants can submit their work to the following categories:
- Short Film: Films with a running time of up to 30 minutes.
- Children’s Short Film: Films specifically aimed at children, up to 40 minutes in length (including credits).
- Student Short Film: Films up to 30 minutes long (including credits) created by students or within schools.
- Feature Film: Films with a running time exceeding 41 minutes (including credits).
Prizes and Awards
With absolutely no entry fee, Animage offers a fantastic platform for international exposure and substantial financial support. Trophies and prize money will be awarded to the top films in the competitive programs:
- Best Feature Film: R$8,000
- Best Short Film: R$8,000
- Best Children’s Short Film: R$8,000
- Best Brazilian Short Film: R$8,000
